By far one of the favorite recipes among Merci Mercado Co-Founders! This is a recipe simple to make yet very rich in history, culture, and flavor!
Corn tortillas (preferably homemade)
1 cup Merci Mercado chapulines (plain, adobo or chipotle grasshoppers)
2-3 tbsp mezcal
¼ small onion (julienned)
2 tbsp olive oil
Heat olive oil on a skillet.
Add grasshoppers and onions until crispy (about 4 min.), add the mezcal and keep stirring for another minute.
Serve them over a fresh homemade corn tortilla, add avocado salsa and a touch of lime on top.
